Almost a year ago, Life Science Daily News published its first articles with a simple belief. Specialist science deserves a specialist stage. Since then, that belief has grown into a global readership and an active community of contributors. This is the story of our first year in life science publishing. It is also an invitation to join us for the next.

Where it began

Life Science Daily News launched in November 2025. Our founding mission was “to make life science accessible, inspiring, and community driven.”

The idea grew from a gap we saw across the sector. Researchers, founders and communications teams had important news to share. Yet their options were often a generic newswire, a social media post or an expensive media placement.

We wanted to offer a different model of life science publishing. So we built a publication exclusively for the life sciences. We also made a choice that still defines us. The site carries no banner advertising, and editorial decisions remain independent of commercial relationships.

A year of growth, milestone by milestone

By July 2026, eight months after launch, we had published almost 500 articles. Readers were arriving from more than 100 countries. Our LinkedIn community had passed 800 followers. We recorded those milestones in our eight-month update.

Today, the picture is bigger again. We have now published more than 700 articles, analyses and press releases. More than 14,000 people use the site every month, a readership drawn largely from the life sciences. They read from over 140 countries, led by the United States, the United Kingdom and India, with a fast-growing readership across Asia.

Those numbers matter because of who sits behind them. Our coverage is written for people working in pharma, biotech, medtech, clinical research and regulatory affairs. For anyone with news to share, that relevance is the real prize.

What our readers come for

Our editorial team covers the stories that shape the sector. That includes drug approvals, clinical trial readouts, deals, policy and health technology.

Regular series are now fixtures in readers’ weeks. They include the Weekly News Roundup, Clinical Trial Results and our FDA Drug Approval Decisions tracker.

Alongside this sits the work of our contributors. Scientists, clinicians, regulatory specialists and founders write about their own fields, under their own names. That blend of independent reporting and expert voices sets LSDN apart.

The LSDN weekly newsletter

Every week, our newsletter brings a selection of the latest coverage straight to readers’ inboxes.

Since its launch in early September 2026, the newsletter has averaged a 46% open rate. In practical terms, almost half of recipients open each edition.

For anyone publishing with us, this is a second route to readers. Articles published under our Professional and Single Feature plans are included in the newsletter after they go live. Selected Explorer articles may also feature, at editorial discretion.

Readers can subscribe to the LSDN newsletter free of charge.

Paid life science publishing routes, and why they work

Our first year in life science publishing has taught us that targeted reach beats sheer volume. Our paid routes are designed around that principle. On average, paid articles receive five times as many views as non-paid articles. That is partly because every paid piece is also promoted across our social media channels, reaching a much wider audience.

Each one places your content inside a credible editorial environment, alongside independent news and analysis. Every placement is reviewed by our editors, clearly labelled and kept permanently live on the site. That gives you a lasting, shareable page for customers, investors and partners.

What it looks like in practice

Recent partner content shows what paid life science publishing can deliver. A company’s Chief Scientific Officer explained why the next clinical trial recruitment challenge is qualification, not awareness.

Rakuten Medical used a press release to announce the appointment of former Takeda CEO Christophe Weber to its board.

Press Release: £250 per release

For communications teams and agencies with company news to share, a Press Release is the fastest route. There is no subscription. We review your release first and invoice only once it is accepted.

  • Company attribution and logo
  • Shared on the LSDN social media channels on publication
  • Published within 24 hours of payment, following editorial review

Companies with a steady flow of news can choose a bundle. Five releases cost £1,000, and twelve cost £2,200. That works out at £200 per release for five, or about £183 for twelve. Bundles are valid for 12 months. If we decline a release, the credit returns to your bundle.

Single Feature: £395 one-off

A Single Feature suits thought leadership, a product story or an expert view on a trend. It gives you one polished, credited article without a monthly commitment. As with press releases, we invoice only after editorial review.

  • Author and company byline, with author bio
  • Promotional content permitted
  • Editorial polish before publication
  • Included in the LSDN weekly newsletter
  • Shared on the LSDN social media channels on publication
  • Published within 48 hours of payment, following editorial review

Professional: £145 a month or £1,450 a year

Professional is built for organisations that want a consistent presence in front of the sector. Members can publish up to two pieces a month, choosing articles or press releases. PR agencies can use one Professional membership across multiple clients, with each piece carrying that client’s byline.

  • Author and company byline, with author bio
  • Promotional content permitted
  • Included in the LSDN weekly newsletter
  • Shared on the LSDN social media channels on publication
  • Published within 3 working days

The annual plan costs £1,450, compared with £1,740 when paid monthly over a year. That is the equivalent of two months free.

Newsletter sponsorship: rates on request

Want your brand in front of readers every week? A sponsorship places your logo or a short text placement in the LSDN weekly newsletter. Ask us for current availability and rates.

Into year two

Nearly a year in, LSDN is still young. Yet it has already shown that a specialist, independent title can earn a global audience quickly.

We believe the future of life science publishing is focused, credible and open to the experts doing the work. We would like your story to be part of that journey.

“When we launched, we believed specialist science deserved a specialist stage,” said Louise Howard, Executive Editor. “A year on, the response from researchers, founders and communications teams has gone beyond what we imagined. Year two is about giving more of them a place to be heard by the people who matter most.”
