Life Science Daily News is published by Life Scope Global News Ltd, a private company limited by shares registered in England and Wales (company number 16488889), with its registered office at Suite RA01, 195-197 Wood Street, London E17 3NU. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Life Scope Global News Ltd.
Life Scope Global News Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under reference ZC045507. • Usage data (e.g. pages viewed, interaction logs, and, where you consent, session analytics such as clicks and scrolling)

Where we get your data
Most of this information comes directly from you when you register, make a purchase, submit content or contact us.

5. Our Weekly Newsletter
We send a weekly newsletter covering life sciences news and updates from Life Science Daily News.

Who receives it: registered users and customers are added to the newsletter when they sign up or make a purchase, unless they tick the opt-out box on the signup form. We may also send it to business contacts who have corresponded with us, as described in section 2.

Why we can send it: we send the newsletter on the basis of our legitimate interests in keeping our members, customers and business contacts informed about life sciences news and our services. For registered users and customers, we do this because you gave us your details when signing up for or buying our services, and you were given the chance to opt out at that point and in every newsletter we send.

Unsubscribing: every newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link. You can also email info@lifesciencedaily.news. Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not affect your account or any plan you have with us.

Keeping your choice: if you opt out at signup or unsubscribe later, we record that choice and keep a record of your email address on a suppression list, so that you are not added to the newsletter again.

Our newsletter is sent using beehiiv, which processes your data on our behalf (see section 6).

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf, including our website hosting and email providers, our newsletter platform (beehiiv) and our analytics providers (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity)
• Our website developer, who needs access to the Site in order to maintain and support it
• Payment providers (Stripe and PayPal), which process payments and may also use your data under their own privacy policies
• AI tools used to support our editorial process, as described in our Editorial Policy. These providers are not permitted to use your content to train AI models
• Legal or regulatory bodies, when required by law
• Our affiliates, successors, or in connection with a business transfer.

We do not share your details with sponsors or advertisers.

7. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UK. Several of our service providers, including our newsletter, payment and analytics providers, are based in or process data in the United States. We ensure adequate protection through UK-approved safeguards, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses. If we transfer personal information outside the UK, we do so in line with UK data protection law.

8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. In particular:

• Account and contributor profile data: for as long as your account is open, and for up to 12 months after it is closed
• Published content: for as long as it remains on the Site or in our archives, under the licence described in our Terms and Conditions
• Billing and payment records: six years, to meet tax and accounting requirements
• Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only a suppression record so that you are not added again
• Correspondence: for up to two years after our last contact, unless it relates to an ongoing matter
• Analytics data: in line with the retention settings of our analytics providers

9. Your Rights
You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain types of processing
• Object to direct marketing, including our newsletter, at any time. This right is absolute
• Receive a copy of the data you have given us in a portable format
• Withdraw consent where applicable
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@lifesciencedaily.news. We will respond within one month, as required by UK data protection law. If your request is complex, we may extend this by up to two further months and will let you know.

10. Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

11. Age Restrictions
Our site and services are intended for users who are at least eighteen years old, or the minimum legal age in their country to form a binding contract, whichever is higher.
